One of the subjects
in the Scripture that Christians even some preachers have an imbalance
understanding of is faith. Due to the way faith was preached and proclaimed by
some of our founding fathers, it has only been limited to just believing -having
faith to receive things from God, like miracles, breakthrough etc.
While I am
not against believing God or trusting Him to bless us materially or physically,
I am also bold to relate to us that faith is more than just believing to get
things from God i.e. the blessings of His hands.
Beloved, while I was
very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it
necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith
which was once for all delivered to the saints. Jude1:3.
Receiving the end of your faith — the salvation of your souls. 1Peter1:9. For I am not ashamed of the
gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that
believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the
righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall
live by faith. Romans
1:16-17.
It is very
important even at this time not only to know the faith to get things but much
more to know the faith of the son; the faith of the Son is the gospel of Christ.
It is the absolute gospel of the eternal life embedded in the Son, Jesus
Christ. As is it written in the Scripture, And
this is eternal life that they might know You the only true God and Jesus Christ
whom You have sent. John 17:3. It is this faith that brings the
salvation of our souls as God and His Son Jesus Christ is revealed by the Holy
Spirit.
Eternal life for
the soul is coming to the knowledge of the only true God and His Son Jesus whom
He has sent. Beloved, to come to this knowledge will take the faith of the Son
and what is the faith of the Son, It
is the life of the Father which ensures that we are completely saved from the
this corrupt age. The faith of the Son is eternal life and is the realm at
which the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. Receiving the end of your faith — the
salvation of your souls. 1Peter1:9.
In other words, the expression of our faith is the salvation of our souls,
which is more needful than any material or physical need. As Jesus said,
But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will
not be taken away from her. Luke
10:42. The good part is faith for eternal life.
